LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
LG counter-depth fridges are compact and offer a lot of space. They're also priced more affordably than many standard-depth French door refrigerators and remove the requirement for a separate under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S) that offers the capacity of a standard refrigerator with modern and sleek design, is no exception. It also comes with an internal dispenser that gives easy access to drinking water.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins are roomy, and the top right shelf can be folded down to create half-depth shelves that allow higher-height items to fit. The bottom of the fridge has a set of crisper drawers, and the deli drawer with its full width is perfect for meat or fresh produce.
The refrigerator has a recessed icemaker on the back wall. This reduces space and allows you to store more ice bags. The refrigerator is equipped with a door-cooling system that utilizes vents in the freezer and fridge doors to let cold air enter the refrigerator. It prevents hot spots and maintains the temperature of the refrigerator.
This LG refrigerator stood out during our tests. It has ample space to feed a family, but we found a few annoying issues. First, the freezer drawers don't remain at the temperature we'd like. The middle drawer was 41 degrees during our maximum usage test which is hot enough for ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of your freezer remained at around 36 degrees.
The refrigerator doors also have handles that are sunken and are difficult for shorter people to close. This may seem insignificant but we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators to make them easier to open and shut.

The fridge is pricey, but it's worth it for anyone looking to have an ultra-sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this refrigerator for those looking to upgrade their existing refrigerator or for those who are building a brand new home and want to have a seamless look in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's latest and fanciest counter-depth French door refrigerator, priced at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling test, but we aren't fans of the plastic handles or the flimsy crisper bins.
Bespoke is one of the features that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It lets you personalize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 colors to choose from, from soft pastels to bolder hues and four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be customized with text or photos which makes the fridge a personal touch point that will match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
You can also alter the color of the refrigerator's LED lighting, which is pretty. The interior of the refrigerator features a smart finish which reduces the appearance of smudges and makes cleaning easy. The only downsides of the RF23M8090SG are its slightly congested beverage center and a bit of a learning curve when it comes to opening the door-indoor feature that houses a water pitcher as well as a dispenser. You must feel for a lever on the underside of the door midway across, and when you do, it opens a second door within the fridge, which houses the docking station for pitchers along with the water dispenser as well as two shelves for drinks.
The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is large enough to store a wide range of frozen food items and features an impressive slide-out drawer that allows you to get the food you're looking for without opening the entire compartment. This drawer can be locked with an access code to keep out unwanted guests and also has an LED light that is handy so you can see what's inside at glance.
